The Sheriff’s Office Chaplaincy is a volunteer organization offering it’s ministry of to the Sheriff’s Office sworn and civilian personnel and the citizens of King County/Seattle, Washington
The King County Sheriff’s Office welcomes Mitzi Johanknecht as the Elected Sheriff for King County. King County Sheriffs Office established in 1852 employs with 800 sworn Deputies, 350 civilian professional staff and is the 3rd largest Sheriff’s Office in the United States. The Chaplaincy Unit proudly and compassionately serves under the Sheriff Johanknecht in communities of King County.
Trained for Service: Our training as ordained and licensed pastors and links to parish ministry provide a multi-dimensional view towards the service and compassion of those we are called to serve. In other words, we are oriented to serve people in times of crisis and trauma-times that they would not normally face.
We also respond to search scenes and find ourselves in the presence of a volunteers like ourselves who are available to respond to Sheriff’s Office personnel and the community
