Our Service

Chaplaincy within the framework of peace keeping and law enforcement demands attention to preparation and the discipline required to meet and successfully deal with a variety of situations. So, we come together in a variety of ways to better equip ourselves for both the ordinary and the unique situations we are called to offer the spiritual care of a chaplain.

•   Civil Disasters: Earthquake-Flood-Aircraft
•   Suicide/Grief Intervention
•   Auto and Motorcycle Accident Scenes
•   Incidents that impact schools and the population in King County

September 11, 2001 was a tragic event for our nation. Even as we mourned we learned how important it was to have the human assets to cope with major incidents. When Katrina created the tragedy it did in New Orleans and adjacent areas Chaplaincy was there. It is with pride and thanksgiving that we celebrate and support the first responders in police, fire, and medical services that stand at the front lines in our nation.

Every event that challenges our human family is an event that shapes our Chaplaincy.

The Chaplain’s Tool Box

Our KCSO Chaplains respond to the requests of Police and Sheriff’s Departments in the USA and Canada to inform family members in King County of the death of relatives.

As the first line of communication to these families we attempt a timely response to the request having accurate information we can share with the family. After making contact with the family we make certain that the family communicate with the agency who requested notification.

If we could not make contact we call the agency to determine the next step. Notification of death is made only when our 911 Call Center has an official telex from the requesting agency.
